Recruiting News👀
Peach Jam may no longer offer the same opportunities for players as it did in the past. The implementation of NIL rules and new transfer regulations has made it harder for high school players to secure scholarship offers. Coaches such as Bill Self, Tom Izzo, and John Calipari have traditionally used Peach Jam to recruit top talent and build their programs, but the focus now seems to be shifting towards proven players from the college ranks rather than high school prospects."
Not every player attending Peach Jam is a known quantity or top 100 ranked player. These five players plan on making a name for themselves and moving up the rankings and improving their recruitment this summer.
Starting Five
USA Olympic Team: The US Olympic Team’s preparation is in full go with Lebron, Steph, and KD looking to secure gold for the United States. After a tough exhibition game with Australia is this US team vulnerable or will they dominate in Paris this summer?
Summer League: Reed Shepard looks like a draft day win for the Rockets. NBA GMs and head coaches are using the summer league to evaluate second year players and measure their draft picks up against the rest of the league. Which rookies are performing well and which are setting themselves up for a year in the G league?
3×3 Paris Olympics: With its fast-paced and dynamic gameplay, 3×3 basketball is set to captivate fans in Paris during the 2024 Olympics.
Making a Comeback: Jimmermania? Just 13 years ago Jimmy Fredette stared for BYU earning himself Player of the Year and the 10th pick in the NBA draft in 2011 by the Sacramento Kings. His shotmaking and range were both legendary in college. Jimmy now stars on the USA 3×3 olympic team and is poised to help the team win gold this summer.
Who’s the WNBA rookie of the year favorite? Reese and Clark have taken their college rivalry to the WNBA and even though their on court matchups are limited, both are performing at a level worthy of the ROY award.
